Eggplant colored bodice has long bell sleeves. The front closure is embroidered buttons, sleeves are decorated with box pleating at the cuff with distinctive bias strip decoration in a geometric design decorated with buttons. Also features distinctive curved pleating detail at front and back of bodice, almost a half rosette. Back of bodice is split to accommodate a bustle. Cream linen interior lining, original manufactures label is dry rot but ‘London’ is still visible. Both hand and machine stitched. Circa 1855-1865
