1870s three piece cotton day dress. Green and white pinstripe bodice with dropped shoulders and heavily pleated full sleeves with button closure (the neckline lace looks like a later addition), the skirt is two pieces, a scalloped hem overskirt with a high low hem with heavy hand sewn cartridge pleating at the back (and a hand sewn buttonhole.) which is worn over a skirt with bias cut trim applied to the hem of the skirt in rows. The fabric is deteriorating around the red flowers in the design of the fabric on the bodice.
